We had a tour of the town on market day, which unlike our markets that sell mainly clothing and non-perishable goods, the market at Nuertingen comprises of mostly fresh produce from local growers.
This includes schnapps produced locally along with flowers, plants, fruit, vegetables, meat, bakery products, herbs and spices. The quality of all the goods were extremely high but the prices appeared relatively low.
The colour of the displays were really soothing to the eye and the abundance of so many fresh goods in one place made it a mouthwatering experience for all.
This afternoon we visited Beuren thermal spa. A leap into the water is a worthwhile experience in Beuren. Hot thermal-mineral waters flow from Kaarst rocks at a depth of 700 meters into the three interior and four exterior pools at the "Panorama Therme". The temperatures of the pools vary from about 24 to 40 degrees centigrade. The pools have various jets and bubble generators which make all the pools great fun even for those with little or no swimming abilities. For the very brave there is a cold water plunge pool outside if you want to increase your blood circulation. Amongst the attractions at the spa are a generous sauna facility, steam rooms, dark & light rooms for quiet meditation, various showers hot & cold, extended lying areas, a comfortable Café-Restaurant and a large parking area.
